Running around catching up on things I let sit because May exploded with RL things to do, and I have a question.
Is the wrap skirt meshed on? If so, it's meshed onto the skirt, right, not the top?
See, I know there's some Milkshape deep-magic way to make a top mesh show over the pants (although I think it's actually adding another group), and I found myself thinking "Gosh, that would be a great way to do something like this," where the bottoms are any old skirted underdress mesh, the base group of the top mesh is basically an untuckable top, and then you have an alpha-editable overdress group with a rucked-up skirt and slightly-looser bodice and wider sleeves. The colors or mix-and-matchable, and I have been told separates work as Outerwear if they're also enabled for Casual.
And the Boho wrap skirt isn't as poofy as I imagine, but it's still the closest thing to what I see in my head.
Feel free to tell me I'm a crazy person. I'm used to it.
Hat! I was wondering where you were :) Summer is starting so I figured doll shows and such had you busy.
The boho skirt has the scarf meshed on to it, this first set is going to be bottom only dresses. The second set will have top only dresses. I'm using bits from a mesh with a rucked-up over skirt from TSM to attach to the same tops tops to get that look. Great minds and all that lol.
I ran into a snag though while testing. Aquilegia's Andro meshes have a completely different preg morph. My set is based on HP's untucked top and slouchy pants, so the set can be used with those tops. I haven't checked the top mesh you linked yet, but if it's based on the Andro set, it's not going to match up.
Here are the bottoms with Aquilegia's Andro tops. Big gap.
And here is the teen again but the adult is using the HP based top.
They line up fine in fit and fat mode, it's just the preg morphs that are off. I'm not sure how we should "fix" it. Do you know how many meshes Ophelia has built so far? I've got four tops and five bottoms, for cf, tf and af. I could edit the preg morph on Aquilegia's top and bottom so they line up mine and HP's, and I would be willing to edit Ophelia's too if she doesn't mind. It would be awesome if they could all be used together. What do you think?
Actually, my show schedule this year is February, May, early September, late September, November. Next year, I may be adding March, and after I get a kiln, I can start doing one in January and apply to do one in October. (I could do one in August but the venue is too hot in the summer.) So this summer shall be eBay time.
Awwww yiss, top only dresses with rucked skirts sound AWESOME, I look forward to seeing them. *crosses fingers for a good Gates of Hell mesh, too*
And... the cracks around the waist on the Andro meshes are... a big surprise, since Aquilegia said she built them to fit HP's bottoms; everything's supposed to have the same hip measurements as Maxis. Weird indeed-- I didn't see any seams on the pregmorphs when I did a Try On in game, on the skirts Oph3lia made for me, the original Jacci/Trapping meshes they're based on, or that AF skirt Silvain made from the Alphadress... and the only ones I intend to build skirts on are the ones Oph3lia put poulaines on. Did I send you those or just the top? I can't remember anymore.
It sounds to me like it'd be easier to fix the pregmorphs on the Androgyny tops, the TF top, and the two Oph3lia skirts. Considering the skirts are an edit, I don't think there'd be a problem messing with those, but the Androgyny untuckable tops have been out for a while. ... Okay, wait, question-- how do the problem tops fit HP's slouchy pants on pregnant Sims?
Now that that is out of the way, I'm putting your Bonne Nuit (all the colors) texture on my af HP top with the sleeves, then texture referencing the tf and cf. I also made the UV for the other tops (different sleeve shapes) the same so I can reference all them to one size :)
Really, it's just a weird lineup of cracks and awkwardness. I shall grab the meshes forthwith. Thank you for fixing things-- I have a few uphill battles ahead of me, but I really do have plans to recolor... so many things.
(Also, I learned a new trick for making your game load faster without actually removing anything. Package your hairs together. Make a new package, add all the recolors and the mesh file, save as, compressorize the huge package, and remove the old ones. A few large packages load faster than a lot of little ones; Body Shop comes up for me in three-to-five minutes now with three gigs of CC installed. It works with all content, really, but hairs are easily separated into 'if I ever take this out of my game, I'll take ALL of it out of my game' batches of files.)
The new trick is, open SimPE, click "New," open the folder where your target hair is, then go down to drop-down menu where it says 'Extracted FIle Descriptor' by default, and select either All Files or DBPF Package. That'll show you your .package files. Select all of them (I throw the mesh in, too), then Save As something descriptive, and compresserize. You can extract all the bits but it's way faster to add as packages, plus it's easier to see what you're doing.
And it will break the file if you try to delete one single hair color in-game, so don't do that. It's seriously not something an uploader can do to benefit downloaders, unfortunately, and only something to do to content you know you want to keep. But that's sort of why hairs are a good candidate for it, since-- at least for me-- the usual process is to go 'man, I don't like that hair anymore' and pull it from the Downloads folder.
But then the in-game delete button scares me and I've only used it to get rid of walls with gibberish filenames that I couldn't find going through my folders by hand OR using Delphy's Download Organizer.
Oh, that is easy. Something I will do for myself for sure. I really need to clean out all the hair recolors I have and figure out what I want to keep, get rid of the ones with extra ages and all that.
I'm done with the textures! Finally! lol I have SimPe open now doing the TR thing. Trying to decide if I should do it for the skirts too.
It's really easy! I did it to all my own hairs that didn't need texture-referencing and it cut a couple minutes off of Body Shop's loading time. But I guess that's understandable going from 1,600 files to 254. I'm probably going to bundle some of my own clothes... as soon as I figure out whether to do a few big bundles by age/bodyshape or 68 bundles by color. I just keep thinking I should try connecting age conversions with the Family value before I even start bundling.
Yay! I look forward to seeing them when you're done! My goal for the day is to get all my OFB-pinned short female hairs TR'd to the male versions and bundled... and to get the home office floor vacuumed.

I'll go ahead and edit the meshes and make them all compatible. Done!In the background are my skirts with Aquilegia's tops and in the foreground are Aquilegia's teen top with Ophelia's skirt.
Here are the updated meshes.
Andrgyny Edits
IoTrappingOphelia tf skirt
Migamoo tf top

I know it can with buy mode objects.
